Convicted serial rapist Larry Takahashi is back in a prison cell today, but officials aren’t saying why.
Takahashi moved to a Victoria halfway house Oct. 24 on temporary release; he was scheduled to return to a federal prison Dec. 24.
The Victoria Police Department confirmed the information.
Parole Board of Canada spokesman Patrick Storey said the decision to revoke Takahashi’s release was made by Correctional Service of Canada,
“Any time a release is interrupted this way, whether it’s for something the offender did or another reason, that’s a CSC decision to manage the individual’s risk in the community and administering his release. The board is now waiting for CSC to send us the rationale for their decision.”
The report’s contents likely won’t be publicly available for another week or two, Storey said.
