Shed fire sends smoke high above Agassiz

Agassiz fire attended the blaze Wednesday afternoon

The Agassiz Fire Department was on scene at a shed fire on Else Road Wednesday (June 12).

Crews were on scene just before 2 p.m. Wednesday after an unattached shed on the country road caught fire. By shortly after 2 p.m., members were putting out the flames with water pumped from the department’s mobile water truck.

The shed appeared to have hay inside it, and firefighters could be seen using a long stick to move the hay as water was poured on it.

Smoke from the flames could be seen long before reaching the fire, as it travelled up above the tree line.

More to come.
