A prominent Armstrong business is moving ahead with an expansion.
City council has approved several variances so Shepherd’s Hardware can construct two storage buildings on Mill Street.
The variances include a reduction of lot line setbacks and waiving the requirement for landscape screening consisting of a solid fence or a hedge.
“The storage buildings will house an automated lumber and building supplies stacking and storage system,” said Melinda Stickney, chief administrative officer, in a report.
Cash being borrowed
Armstrong has the finances for a new park.
City council has adopted a bylaw to borrow $80,000 for development of Huculak Park.
The funds will be borrowed over five years.
The property is located downtown between Patterson Avenue and Willowdale Drive.
