Shuswap CP holiday train stops scheduled

Train to stop in Canoe for the first time on Dec. 14

The CP Rail Holiday Train will be back in December, and this year will feature a short stop in Canoe.

The CP Rail Holiday Train will be back in December, and this year will feature a short stop in Canoe.

When the CP Rail Holiday Train passes through the Shuswap on Dec. 14 it will be making it’s first-ever stop in Canoe.

The train will stop at the 50th street Railway crossing in Canoe from 7  to 7:30 p.m. to accept food bank donations and put on a musical performance.

Country artist Dallas Smith and Vancouver band Odds will be performing.

Since 1999 the train’s annual cross-country journey has raised over $12 million and 3.9 million pounds of food.

The train will also stop in Sicamous, Salmon Arm and Notch Hill on Dec. 14.

The Sicamous stop, at 5:30 p.m. will be at the Siver Sand Road intersection East of the bridge.

The stop in Salmon Arm will be held at the Lordco parking lot at 51 Lakeshore Drive NE at 7:45 p.m.

The train will stop across from Notch Hill Hall at 9:20 p.m.

The train will also stop in Chase, across from the RCMP building, on Dec. 15 at 2:50 p.m.
