Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the Okanagan, including Vernon,
Wet weather is on the way.
A change to a wetter pattern is forecast for the southern half of British Columbia, particularly over the Southern Interior. An upper disturbance moving in from the Pacific today will bring increasing amounts of moisture and instability. Showers or thunderstorms are expected to develop later today and will become fairly widespread over much of the Southern Interior on Tuesday, with the potential for localized higher rainfall amounts. The showers will taper off on Wednesday.
Today’s forecast is mainly cloudy with a high of 28. Showers and a risk of a thunderstorm are expected to roll in tonight.
Tuesday will see rainfall amounting to 10 to 20 millimetres.
Wednesday is also calling for rain, followed by a mix of sun and cloud Thursday. The clouds are forecast to part by Friday with a high of 27, and the mercury will continue to rise Saturday (32) and Sunday (33).
