Silver Star Mountain Resort isn’t boasting, but it has the most ski runs open in North America.
The resort currently has 106 of its 115 runs open for skiing and snowboarding on natural snow.
“We don’t have any snowmaking facilities at the resort so we rely 100 per cent on Mother Nature,” said Brad Baker, operations manager.
“She’s been very kind to us and we have worked hard to make sure our slopes were ready.”
There is presently a snow base of about 82 centimetres.
“Silver Star has some impressive mowing equipment that assists in keeping the grass and shrubs down so the ski runs can open when the first snows arrive,” said Baker.
All lifts are also operational at Silver Star (some only run if needed for busy days) and 11 features are open in Telus Park.
