A new apartment building is proposed for Central Abbotsford.
The company hopes to construct a six-storey, 58-unit apartment building on the eastern side of Emerson Street.
The building would have 17 one-bedroom units, 35 two-bedroom units and six three-bedroom units.
The land is currently vacant and is designated as “urban-midrise” in the city’s Official Community Plan.
At a meeting earlier this month, council voiced no objections to the plans of Noort Developments.
The matter would normally head to a public hearing. But because of a new public health order banning in-person attendance of government meetings, the in-person hearing will be cancelled. Residents will have until Dec. 21 to submit comments in writing to the city.
