There was a missing persons case late last week, which had a happy ending.
According to Grand Forks RCMP, a group of youths were gathered at the sand pit at Christina Lake and just after midnight on Oct. 19, a 16-year-old male got upset, refused a ride back to Grand Forks and wandered off.
People began searching for the male but to no avail and police were called at 3:19 a.m. to assist in the search.
Grand Forks Search and Rescue was also called in but the youth was located at 8:30 a.m. unharmed.
“We found the individual at a friend’s place so we shut down all the resources we brought in,” explained Grand Forks RCMP’s Staff Sgt. Jim Harrison.
