A guest at Whitewater Ski Resort was sent to hospital after falling off a chairlift on January 12.
According to Whitewater’s general manager of outside operations, Kirk Jensen, the man experienced a “medical situation” while riding the mountain’s two-seat Summit Chair that Sunday afternoon.
“Despite the efforts of the individual riding the chair with him, the man fell and landed in the soft snow below,” Jensen explained.
He wouldn’t say where the man was from, how far he fell, or if improper use of the safety bar was a factor in the incident.
According to Jensen, Whitewater ski patrol responded quickly and provided medical attention until BC Ambulance arrived to transport the man to hospital. He was released from hospital later that evening with no serious injuries.
