A big crowd came out to welcome the CP Rail Holiday Train into Revelstoke on Tuesday.
Unfortunately, the train was delayed by more than an hour and many people left because of the cold weather; according to Environment Canada, the temperature was -10 C and the windchill was -16 C when the train pulled into town at around 7:30 p.m.
Volunteers worked hard to get two large bonfires built and firefighters served up hot dogs and hot chocolate in exchange for donations to the food bank.
When the train finally did show up, rock band The Odds were ready to go. They played a few songs before CP Rail made a $10,000 donation to the Community Connections Food Bank.
Afterwards, hit Canadian country singer Dallas Smith came out to perform for the few hundred people that stayed for the whole show.
