Sitting on a patio, sipping a micro brew made of Bulkley Valley-grown barley and Hazelton hops while gazing at the sun set over Hudson Bay Mountain. That is the vision Dawn 2 Dusk owner Dave Harris wants to make reality.
He got one step closer last Tuesday, with Smithers council unanimously approving a recommendation to the Liquor Control and License Branch (LCLB) that it approve Bulkley Valley Brewery’s lounge and special event area application.
The current Dawn 2 Dusk building would house the 900-square-foot lounge plus the brewery. There would also be a patio extending four feet from the front of the First Avenue building with room enough for about three tables, according to a sketch of the layout. The lounge and patio would have a maximum occupancy of 49 people.
The sporting goods store would move to Main Street.
