Smithers RCMP seeking suspect in armed robbery

A man robbed the Capri Motor Inn using a can of mace and a screwdriver.

RCMP are on the look-out after a man robbed the lobby of the Capri Motor Inn.

Armed with a screwdriver and a can of mace, the lone male demanded the lobby attendant to open the cash register.

An undisclosed amount of money and an iPhone were stolen.

The police were called on Oct. 1 at approximately 7 a.m.

The suspect is described as a caucasian, medium build, medium height, with dark short hair and is approximately 25 years old. He was wearing blue jeans and a black hooded sweatshirt.

After the robbery the male fled the scene on a black bicycle, heading north past the seniors centre, towards the hospital.
