Salmon Arm firefighters from Hall 2 and 3 responded to a report of smoke at 241 Alexander St. NE at 10:45 a.m. Friday, Feb. 12.

“Coincidentally, there was a detector malfunction,” said fire chief Brad Shirley. “Somebody in the building was burning incense, but I don’t think the incense set off the alarm.”

The building owner has been instructed to replace the smoke detector.
