Smoke over BC said to be from Asia, possibly Siberia

Kamloops Fire Center provides information on BC smoke

  • Aug. 13, 2012 2:00 p.m.

  • The smoky conditions seen in B.C. over the past two days is a result of smoke drifting over from offshore.
  • This smoke will move across the central interior of B.C. and into Alberta.
  • The exact location of the offshore smoke is unknown, but weather specialists predict it has come from somewhere in Asia, possibly Siberia.
  • There is an air patrol being conducted by Wildfire Management Branch today to search for additional wildfire starts.
