Last week’s Spring Forward Job Fair in Quesnel saw more than 900 people walk through the door. With more than 50 booths to visit, job seekers were able to submit resumes to employers, engage in workshops and learn about training opportunities in Quesnel and Prince George.
Many people came to the job fair with resumes in hand, while others were exploring options or using the day as a networking opportunity. Former Canfor employees were amongst some of the first to come in, but the job fair was open to the whole community with a large range of sectors represented.
Employers reported accepting as many as 30 resumes from prospective employees. Several reported that they would likely hire candidates they met at the Job Fair.
“We were very pleased with how the day came together,” says Amy Reid, Economic Development Officer,
“It is encouraging to see the number of Quesnel-based jobs that are out there.”
The Spring Forward Job Fair was funded by the Province of British Columbia in partnership with the City of Quesnel, Community Futures and School District 28 and facilitated by Quesnel Community and Economic Development Corporation.
