The snow started Friday in Chilliwack and it isn’t expected to come to a halt until Tuesday.
By Friday afternoon, several centimetres of snow had fallen in Chilliwack causing roads conditions to worsen, plows to start moving, and people to start shovelling.
By Saturday morning, the snow continued to fall resulting in residents like Bruce Butcher (pictured above) to help clear some of the wintery white stuff so pedestrians could access the sidewalks along Maple Avenue.
Pictured below, neighbours (from left) Daniel Johnson, Kaitrin Vit, and Julissa Goodnough worked together to shovel the driveway at their small, eight-unit townhouse complex on First Avenue on Saturday.
Yesterday, there was a freezing rain warning in effect, but that was removed by Environment Canada today.
Temperatures are supposed to hover around the freezing mark throughout the weekend and into next week. The snow is not expected to stop until Tuesday when, according to the weather forecast, temperatures are supposed to rise to two degrees and the rain is expected to arrive.
