Plans for another phenomenal locally hosted airshow are starting to get real for the Vanderhoof International Airshow Society (VIAS). On Mon. Dec. 4, 2017 the news broke that, as a result of their crew’s hard work at the International Council of Air Shows (ICAS) convention in Las Vegas on Sun. Dec. 3, The Vanderhoof International Airshow on Aug, 4, 2018 is confirmed to feature the Canadian Snowbirds, F-18 Demonstration Team and The Canadian Armed Forces Parachute Team, the SkyHawks.
“We are thrilled and excited to bring this show to Vanderhoof and the residents of the Central Interior of British Columbia. Thank you Diana and Dorothy!” says Tom Bulmer of VIAS.
“Since we brought the airshow back a few years ago we have been lacking the military presence so many airshow goers crave,” said co-chair Diana Davis. “and this coming summer they will be here.”
“To have one of these acts at an airshow is wonderful. To have all three is totally amazing and the Vanderhoof International Airshow will have all three next summer,” stated an ecstatic Dorothy Teichroeb, military liaison for the show. “The 2018 show is going to be epic.”
“On a more pragmatic note,” says Bulmer “We now have something to get out there and sell to our potential partners.”
The next meeting for the Vanderhoof International Airshow Society is set for Tues. Dec. 12, 5:30 p.m., at the Community Futures Board Room at 2750 Burrard Ave.
