The first big dump of snow of the season brought about numerous accidents and fender-benders in the North Okanagan.
Police, emergency personnel and tow trucks were kept fairly busy Wednesday afternoon and evening, and early Thursday morning.
Four vehicles were involved in one accident at Highway 6 and Aberdeen Road in Coldstream mid-afternoon Wednesday.
A 21-year-old Coldstream woman, the driver of a vehicle that ended up in the ditch, suffered minor injuries.
Three vehicles were towed from the scene, all suffering damages, but noone from any of the four vehicles was taken to hospital.
An unreported accident at around 3:30 a.m. Thursday caused a power outage throughout parts of Vernon.
The outage affected nearly 2,800 homes.
Crews had power back to most homes before 7 a.m.
Police are reminding motorists that with the winter driving season upon us, make sure you have good winter tires, slow down, don’t follow the vehicle in front of you too closely, and give yourself extra time to get to your destination.
