A snowfall warning from Environment Canada says as much as 10 to 20 centimetres of snow should be expected by Saturday morning.

The snowfall is expected to start when a weather system moving north from Washington this morning (Friday) moves into Metro Vancouver. The snow forecast could change to rain at lower elevations later today. The warning says freezing rain is a possibility in the Fraser Valley.

A heavier snowfall is expected to begin tonight.
