The Cowichan Lake and River Stewardship Society has decided to join the Cowichan Lake District Chamber of Commerce.

“I think it gives us visibility,” steward Gerald Thom said, of the chamber.

The society will also benefit from comparatively inexpensive non-profit organization insurance they can get through the BC Chamber of Commerce.

The society will join the Chamber of Commerce as a non-voting non-profit organization.

“Your voice is still heard. It does not negate your voice,” Chamber of Commerce representative Katherine Worsley said, of being a non-voting member, during the society’s latest meeting.
