Sooke residents are encouraged to register with the Capital Regional District’s public alert notification system.

During an emergency or significant event, it’s important to seek local information. Threats and subsequent actions can differ according to geographic location – even within the Greater Victoria region, the District of Sooke said in a press release.

Those signing up for the program will receive Sooke-specific emergency-related public alert notifications by phone, text, or email.

For Sooke residents who have already registered with the CRD’s public alert notification system, there is no need to register again.

All former and new registrations, with a Sooke address, will receive Sooke emergency alerts.
