South Okanagan-Similkameen policing forum

Forum takes place on April 11 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre

RCMP are asking citizens from across the South Okanagan-Similkameen to participate in an upcoming community policing forum on April 11.

“I would like to invite all residents of the regional district to a community policing forum to let us know what they want to see,” said Supt. Ted De Jager. “What do we need to do collectively to promote safety and wellness in our communities?”

The forum will include a short presentation by De Jager on the current issues and trends faced by policing in the region, followed by a panel discussion of those trends. There will also be a question and answer session to respond to questions submitted prior to the forum. The public is invited to submit their questions for discussion prior to April 10 at policingforum@rcmp-grc.gc.ca. To date RCMP said they just over 20 responses. Following the panel discussion, with time permitting, the public will be invited to the open mic to ask questions.

The community policing forum takes place on April 11 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre, doors open at 6 p.m. This event is open to all residents of the region from Summerland to Princeton.
