A South Surrey man and woman are both in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following a Sunday afternoon shooting incident at their home in a rural section of 152 Street.
Police were called to the home, in the 4200-block of 152 Street, shortly after 4:15 p.m. and discovered both victims, who have not been identified.
Surrey RCMP Cpl. Scotty Schumann said that both the address and the two victims were “known to police” and that the shootings appear targeted.
“Our investigators believe both individuals were the intended victims,” he told Peace Arch News Monday the next morning.
“They haven’t nailed down a motive, but they have some theories and good information,” he said.
Police did not disclose which hospital the victims are taken to, calling it “a regional trauma hospital.”
Investigators from Surrey Serious Crime and the Lower Mainland Forensic Identification section were both at the scene, with officers still there Monday morning.
Schumann said that police are asking for anyone who saw “anything suspicious along that stretch of road around 4:15 p.m.” to report it at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers, or, if they wish to remain anonymous, at 1-800-222-TIPS or www.solvecrime.ca
