Fires of Note:

There are currently no fires burning near communities or structures, however hunting season is quickly approaching and fire officials are urging campers and hunters to use caution with their campfires.

So far this year, there have been 257 campfire incidents, involving abandoned, unattended and escaped campfires. The number is slightly above the five‐year average of 236 campfire incidents for this time of year.

While cooler weather is apparent, it is important to note that some regions of the Southeast Fire Centre are experiencing drought‐like conditions and are still at an elevated risk of fire. Also, all open burning is still prohibited through‐out the region. For more information on open fire restrictions, please visit: www.bcwildfire.ca
