There’s a lot of happy children and parents in Spallumcheen.
The provincial government is providing $128,000 to Spallumcheen to upgrade the McLeod subdivision playground.
“I am very pleased that the communities of the Shuswap have received such a substantial investment through the Community Recreation Grant Program, which will promote physical activity and healthy choices by creating new and enhanced places for residents to get out and get fit,” said Shuswap MLA George Abbott.
The playground, which was deemed unsafe after a risk management assessment, will get upgrades so children can play in a safe and attractive green space without having to cross the highway.
The project will include new equipment, landscaping and fencing.
