A troop of Sparks — Girl Guides of Canada (GGC)'s youngest members — offered carnations to passersby Saturday, May 18, outside the Coronation Mall Safeway to promote the 16th annual Rotary Garden Tour, Show and Sale. Assisting the Sparks were senior GGC members Kay St. Denis and Anne Treacy, Ladysmith vice ambassador Kira Mauriks, B.C. ambassador candidate Kelly Wallace and Ladysmith Rotary president-elect Cheryl Leukefeld. The Rotary Garden Tour, Show and Sale is a one-day event that includes self-guided tours to private gardens, an open house from 1-3 p.m. at the Ladysmith Community Gardens, and a Show and Sale at Aggie Hall from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tickets for the tour cost $15 per person and are available at Aggie Hall Sunday morning beginning at 9 a.m. A continental breakfast will be served at Aggie Hall from 9-11 a.m., Leukefeld said.
