Spate of unusual sightings have Kelowna residents on guard

Reports of men touching themselves up in public spaces are starting to pour in.

Reports of men touching themselves up in public spaces are starting to pour in.

Const. Kris Clark issued the first warning about a beach-bound masturbator Friday, and since then there have been at least three more cases.

“That happens with a lot of fairly high profile incidents,” said Clark.

“We get one incident then there are 20. Anything that hits home with the public … it’s the viral phenomenon.”

In addition to the beach and the YM/YWCA case, there was a man caught masturbating near Paul’s Tomb on Tuesday, and another was spotted at Gyro beach on Wednesday.

“At this point there’s really nothing to connect them,” assured Clark, noting the description of the men don’t match.
