St. Patrick Street heritage designation approved

Home is a good example of the ‘storybook’ style, designed by H. P. Rutter and constructed in 1939

A St. Patrick Street home is a designated a Municipal Heritage Site after a public hearing last week.

The building is a good example of the ‘storybook’ style, designed by H. P. Rutter and constructed in 1939.

In April the Oak Bay Heritage Commission recommended the property be added to the Community Heritage Register.

A site designated a Municipal Heritage Site includes provisions of the Local Government Act that all future alterations to the house or designated property must be authorized by a Heritage Alteration Permit.
