On the evening of March 17, about 25 English as a Second Language (ESL) learners, tutors, organisers, family and friends came together in the Cariboo Chilcotin Partners for Literacy (CCPL) Meeting Room in the South Cariboo Business Centre to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day – ESL style.
There was plenty of delicious savoury and sweet food offered and donated, together with coffee, tea and bottled water for all to partake in.
Teresa and Herb Keim set up to entertain everyone in attendance, playing and singing English, German and Swiss songs. Individuals listened attentively to their presentations and clapped avidly, some got up to dance and still others joined in a song or two that they recognized.
The merriments amplified as the evening went on and soon people requested specific songs and even got up to join in with Teresa and Herb Keim, to everybody’s great delight. Amidst joyful chatter and laughter, the high spirits continued until late.
