A man found guilty of participating in the Vancouver Canucks playoff riots in 2011 was recently arrested in Langley, accused of breaking into the Glover Road Pharmacy on May 20.
Osbaldo Gonzalez, 28, was sentenced to four months in jail for being involved in the riot. Now, he is back in jail along with an alleged accomplice, career criminal Natham Hamm. Both are charged with break and enter.
It was a combined effort of people and dogs to catch the bad guys at a break-in at Glover Pharmacy on Tuesday, May 20.
Langley RCMP received a 911 call around 5 a.m. from a person who saw two men in a pickup truck get out and break into the front doors of the Glover Road pharmacy.
While the caller was on with a 911 dispatcher, the two suspects fled in the truck.
Within minutes, officers responding to the scene, observed the suspect truck travelling on Glover Road away from the scene. Officers observed the truck stop and one man get out and run, said Langley RCMP Const. Craig van Herk.
The truck then sped off. Moments later officers located the truck, later learned to be stolen, abandoned with the motor still running.
Police Dog Services responded with two police dogs and began to track both suspects from the two separate locations at the same time. The first suspect was tracked, located and arrested in just under 20 minutes, the second in just over an hour, said van Herk.
Gonzalez and Hamm were arrested and remain in custody facing several charges. Hamm is also charged with willfully resisting arrest.
