RoboCup 2015

The Western Canada RoboCup Junior Games starts with the soccer challenge at 10 a.m. in the atrium of the Centre for Learning at Okanagan College, Kelowna campus.

In soccer, two autonomous mobile robots track a special light-emitting ball in an enclosed field and attempt to score goals.

In the rescue challenge, robots follow a course, negotiate uneven terrain and identify victims within disaster scenarios.

The dance competition features pre-programmed robots dancing to music. This takes place at 11:30 a.m. in the lecture theatre on the OC campus.

Awards for each of the challenges will follow the competitions, in the atrium at 2:30 p.m.

The top three winners in each category will qualify to compete in the World RoboCup to be held in Nagoya, Japan next summer.
