Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 33 calls for service from July 8th, 8 a.m. till July 9th, 8 a.m.
During the same time period, five people were lodged in Terrace cells – two of these people were lodged for intoxication.
Downtown Terrace
A young woman was passed out in a restaurant washroom. She was arrested.
A man was observed attempting to light a bush on fire near the Skeena Mall. The same man stole a pop from a local store. Police located the man and spoke with him. Assistance from an external agency was requested and a resolution was reached.
Elsewhere Terrace
Warrants for a 42-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man were issued.
Police spoke with a young suicidal woman. Family assisted police. She was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital.
Intoxicated man at Mills Memorial Hospital. The middle aged man was transported to an alternate location.
Abandoned cellular 911 call on Little Ave./Atwood St. Numerous checks were done.
False business alarm.
Drug information received.
A man observed consuming alcohol in the driver’s seat of a white Volkswagen Jetta on Clark St. Checks of the area were done.
Abandoned 911 call at Mills Memorial Hospital. It was determined false.
Youth shoplifter at Walmart. The youth was turned over to a parent. Police spoke with the youth. A resolution was reached.
Two men passed out in the Library Park. Police woke up two adult men who were mildly intoxicated. They moved on.
A dog left in car that was illegally parked in a handicap spot at Walmart. Checks of the area were done.
A domestic disturbance heard at a motel. An intoxicated adult man involved in the domestic was arrested in the area. He was transported to an alternate location.
A man seen looking into vehicles in the Park Avenue Medical Building parking lot. Police found a man rummaging through a box in the back of a pickup truck. The adult intoxicated man was arrested. A Magellan GPS and a 12 volt car adapter were seized from his person. Police are looking for the owners.
A telemarketer scam. The caller stated they were from Revenue Canada and demanded payment or an arrest would be made. Money was not exchanged.
A woman was assaulted. Under investigation.
Theft investigation.
Possible impaired driver at Copperside on Kalum St. Checks of the area were done.
Thornhill
Possible impaired driver at Old Lakelse Lake Dr./Ziegler Rd. Checks of the area were done.
A grey 2001 Mazda Protégé ran into a parked brown 2015 GMC Sierra Crew cab truck on Skinner St. No injuries. Both vehicles were towed.
Abandoned vehicle on Larch Ave.
False business alarm.
Rural
Assist New Hazelton RCMP with traffic control for a fire.
Well-being check. The person was having a shower. All fine.
Possible impaired driver in a truck pulling a boat from Furlong Bay. Police pulled the vehicle over. No issues.
Abandoned white Dodge truck on Queensway Dr. The rear tires of the truck were sheared off and the ignition was punched out. The truck was towed. Under investigation.
Gitaus
Well-being check. The woman was fine.
