Solar panels and batteries stolenOn March 17 at approximately 10:30 a.m., Emcon reported that someone had stolen one of the solar panels and batteries from one of their portable signs that are on the side of road at Highways 3 between Grand Forks and Christina Lake. “The solar panels and batteries were worth about $2,000,” said Staff Sgt. Jim Harrison. “They were subsequently recovered by a (RCMP) member is Castlegar.”The individual, who hails from Nelson, was charged with possession of stolen property. Car vandalizedOn March 18 at 8:30 a.m., RMCP received a report of a vehicle being egged and toilet papered over night.The incident occurred on 78th Avenue. So far, police have no witnesses or suspects.The same vehicle was egged and toilet papered on March 19 and that reported at 1:36 p.m.“This time they went a little farther,” said Harrison. “This time they decided they would slash the tires on the car. The complainant has no idea why it’s happening. I’m certain the young lady involved would like to know who’s got it out for her. It’s obviously a targeted incidence. None of the other vehicles in the area were damaged in any way.”The matter is still under investigation. It appears the vehicle entered the ditch at a slow speed.”There were no injuries. The driver was a 34 year-old from Coquitlam.
