Stolen vehicle located in Prince George; two arrested

A vehicle stolen from Vanderhoof was located in Prince George on October 1. Two people have been arrested.

A vehicle stolen from Vanderhoof was located in Prince George on October 1. Two people have been arrested.

At around 2 a.m. an RCMP officer attempted a traffic stop on a minivan which was heading north on University Way In Prince George.

The driver of the vehicle did not stop for the RCMP officer and instead sped off. The vehicle was found soon after, abandoned near the corner of Foothills Boulevard and 18th Avenue. The three occupants of the vehicle had fled on foot.

A police service dog named Baron was brought in to help out and managed to locate two of the suspects – a 55 year-old Prince George man and a 35 year-old Prince George woman. Both had minor bite wounds. The third occupant of the vehicle has not been located.

The vehicle was a 2001 grey Dodge minivan and was confirmed to have been stolen from an address in Vanderhoof.

Charges including possession of property obtained by crime will be recommended to Crown Counsel against the two suspects.
