Stranger in black truck offers children ride home

Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 18 calls for service from January 6th, 8 a.m. till January 7th, 8 a.m.

Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 18 calls for service from January 6th, 8 a.m. till January 7th, 8 a.m.

During the same time period, five people were lodged in Terrace cells – four of these people were lodged for intoxication.

Downtown Terrace

A vehicle parked in a manner to impede traffic flow in a parking lot on Lazelle Ave. Police spoke with the registered owner.

A man with a shovel acting in an aggressive manner on Lakelse Ave. Police arrested the intoxicated 46-year-old man.

A black Samsung Galaxy 4 in a black skull case was lost on December 29th in the downtown area of Terrace.

Elsewhere Terrace

Hit and run to a van in the parking lot of Fountain Tire. Police followed up with the registered owner of the van. The matter was being dealt with already and was not a hit and run.

Sexual assault investigation.

Missing 14-year-old girl. Police located the girl.

Suspicious occurrence. Two children walking home from school on Graham Ave./Pear St. were offered a ride by a stranger. He is described as a Caucasian man, 30-years-old, spiky hair, black marks between his teeth, goatee, and wearing a grey pullover and driving a black newer truck.

Domestic dispute. Police arrested an intoxicated 23-year-old man. No injuries.

Two men in the snow at Hall St./Haugland Ave. Police arrested an intoxicated 42-year-old man. Checks were done of the area for the other man.

Two men fighting at the Terraceview Lodge. Police spoke with the men. One of them was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital for treatment of a minor injury.

Assist Prince George RCMP with executing a warrant.

Harassment complaint. Under investigation.

Domestic dispute. No injuries. A 37-year-old woman was arrested. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.

Thornhill

An employer in Kitimat reported an overdue employee. Concerned with the poor weather and employee’s commute. The employee was spoken with. No issues.

Rural

A semi-truck and trailer in the ditch on Hwy 16 west near the Kasiks Resort. Police spoke with the driver who was waiting in the truck for the tow that had already been called. No injuries.

Vandalism to the ski club at Onion Lake Ski Trails. Information was passed on to Kitimat RCMP.

Kitsumkalum

Suspicious footprints in the snow on Ecstall Ave. Possibly people looking to steal from unlocked vehicles.

Gitaus

Information received about ongoing thefts.
