Parksville residents can expect to see construction on Bagshaw Street until mid-autumn.

A release from Deb Tardiff, the manager of communications for the city, indicated that work on the Bagshaw Streetscape and Utility Upgrades Project will soon start and should be substantially finished in October.

The project will include the replacement and upgrading of approximately 360 metres of utilities and roadway on Bagshaw Street between Stanford Avenue and the Island Highway.

Following engagement with businesses and residents on Bagshaw Street in 2020, the city selected a streetscape configuration responsive to the feedback received during public engagement.

As with all major construction projects, there will be some inconveniences during construction. The city appreciates cooperation and patience during these periods. City crews will maintain traffic flow and services; however, the public should expect temporary interruptions. For more information, residents can email engineering@parksville.ca.
