Summerland on boil water notice

Unexpected issue at water treatment plant

The District of Summerland has issued a boil water notice for water users on the Summerland water system as of July 10, 2018, due to an unexpected issue at the water treatment plant.

The nature of the issue is not known yet, but the Summerland Review will update as more information becomes available.

The District of Summerland and Interior Health advise users to bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute prior to consumption or to use an alternate safe source of water. This includes food preparation, teeth brushing and any consumption of water.

Residents will be notified when the boil water notice has been lifted.

If you have questions regarding water quality, contact the Water Division at 250-494-9747.
