Castlegar fire crews responded to an early morning call about a burning vehicle on Blueberry Road, near the gravel pits across from Fairview, on Sunday, Aug. 11.
“There may be a police report coming about this one,” said Castlegar Fire Chief Gerry Rempel by phone as crews were mopping up.
Rempel said the call came in at 5:30 a.m. and it appeared the vehicle had been vandalized.
“No one was inside,” he said.
Crews were able to fully extinguish the fire before it could spread to neighbouring wooded areas.
