Sunset Markets are finally returning to Mission in August.
‘Markets and Music’ will take place in Centennial Park on Aug. 17 and 31: The market from 4 to 8:30 p.m., and the music from 7 to 8 p.m..
“After a long hiatus, we have finally been given the green light to come together once again,” said Joanna McBride, events coordinator.
“August seems like the perfect time to begin our long-anticipated summer event season. What better occasion to bring the community together once again?”
The Sunset Markets showcase local produce, flowers and plants, as well as Fraser Valley artisans and vendors selling everything from jam and jewelry to soap, woodworking and clothing. Last year, the event had to go virtual due to COVID-19.
The Mission Folk Music Festival has also announced that Jackson Hollow will perform on Aug. 17.
Jackson Hollow is a newly formed Canadian bluegrass band, and a three-time winner of the BC Country Music Association Gaylord Wood Traditional Country Award.
“The heartfelt vocals, the inimitable sound of Jackson Hollow has to be experienced to be described, and even then, words fall short,” McBride said.
