A Surrey Mountie is mending after rolling his police car on the weekend.

On Saturday, at 10:15 p.m., the RCMP officer was heading north on King George Boulevard near 76 Avenue, when he changed lanes.

Police say he had to swerve to avoid another vehicle, hit a cement divider and rolled the police car.

He was pinned in his vehicle and the jaws of life were used to extract him. He sustained only minor injuries and was released from hospital after an hour.

No one else was hurt.

The officer has been with the RCMP for two years.
