CLOVERDALE — Organizers of Surrey Night Market are not letting the destruction from last year’s storm dampen their spirits.
They’re busy preparing for a return to the Cloverdale Fairgrounds, from June 3 to Aug. 14 this year.

“The overwhelming support and good wishes offered by the community after last year’s monstrous storm has doubled our resolve to return for a third season,” said Cheema.
“We are humbled by the support that the community showed us last year and as a gesture of goodwill we would like to give a platform to non-profits to help them raise funds for their causes.”
New will be a “strong community and social perspective” with tents for non-profits and charities. The groups will be able to set up a beer garden to raise funds, according to a release.
Food, merchandise, rides, games and entertainment will return to the family-friendly multicultural market, which will run on Fridays and Saturdays from 6 to 11 p.m. and on Sundays from 5 to 10 p.m. at the Cloverdale Exhibition Grounds, at 17726 62nd Ave. Parking will be free.
During the 2016 season, the following patrons will get free entry into the night market.
- Families of all Canadian Forces personnel and Veterans
- Children less than 48 inches in height when accompanied by their families
- Residents of long-term care and assisted living facilities when coming as a group
- Wheelchair borne persons and their attendants
- Seniors over 65 years with proper ID
- In addition, anyone bringing a non-perishable food item or a new toy will be allowed free access and all collected items will be donated to the local food banks or charities
