SURREY — Surrey Mounties are investigating after multiple shots were fired in a Newton neighbourhood on Saturday evening.
It happened near 62nd Avenue and 142nd Street at about 6:30 p.m.
Police responded to multiple 911 calls and found bullets casings there and at the intersection of 142nd Street and 64th Avenue.
Staff Sgt. Murray Hedderson said witnesses reported two vehicles drove off “and it appeared the occupants of one vehicle was shooting at the other.”
Police found a white Ford pickup with bullet holes abandoned nearby and believe the shooting to be a “targeted incident.”
