Surrey RCMP need help identifying robbery suspect

Police say alleged suspect robbed someone at knifepoint in the 10900-block of 132nd Avenue April 6

SURREY — Police hope the public can help identify an alleged robber.

Surrey RCMP say the suspect allegedly robbed someone at knifepoint in the 10900-block of 132nd Avenue on April 6 shortly before 4 p.m.

The suspect then allegedly threatened the victim and made off with their cell phone and wallet, according to police.

The suspect fled and the victim was not hurt, according to Surrey RCMP.

Police have yet to identify the suspect, who is described as a light skinned African American male in his late teens, six feet tall, 150 pounds with curly bleach blonde and black hair.

Surrey RCMP say the suspect was wearing a black hoodie, tight black jeans, black shoes, a purple and white bandana over his mouth, and a nose ring and diamond earrings.

“If you see this suspect, call 9-1-1 immediately,” said Corporal Scotty Schumann. “When walking alone make sure you’re aware of your surroundings. Walking with confidence and knowing where you’re going will reduce the likelihood of being victimized.”

Anyone with more information is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers, if they wish to remain anonymous, at 1-800-222-TIPS or www.solvecrime.ca.
