Mounties are requesting public assistance in identifying and locating a suspect involved in an alleged assault near Clayton Heights Secondary school in Surrey earlier this week.
On Sunday, July 27 at approximately 2 p.m., the Surrey RCMP responded to a report of an assault on a 16-year-old girl.
She was walking on a pathway behind the school when she was approached from behind by the suspect.
The attacker put his arm around the neck of the girl, who then screamed, causing him to let her go.
He fled the area northbound on foot and, despite extensive patrols and the attendance of Police Dog Services, he was not located.
He is described as a white male in his mid-30’s, 6 feet tall, with a medium build and dark hair. At the time of the assault, he was wearing a rusty/tan coloured tank top, black shorts and sunglasses. (see attached composite sketch).
Investigators have so far been unable to identify the suspect and, as a result, are appealing to the public for their assistance.
Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to call the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or, if you wish to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
