Surrey Mounties are on the hunt for a man they believe is connected to an an assault and forcible confinement case.
Police arrested five people on Saturday, Dec. 5 after a man was held against his will in the area of 86 Avenue and 130 Street.
A sixth suspect is still at large.
Karnjit Randhawa, a 27-year-old man from Surrey, has not been located and is currently wanted by police. He is shown on the left and has a tattoo, pictured on the inset.
The victim is well known to police and continues to recover from his injuries.
Police believe some of the people in this incident may be connected with the increased violence in Newton, as they have associations with the low-level drug trade.
Mounties would not say how or why they think the group has connections with those who are responsible for a string of shootings.
“We’re not saying that any of these guys have pulled the trigger, but they’re certainly associated to the groups of people that are responsible for all that violence,” said Surrey RCMP Cpl. Scotty Schumann. “I can’t detail the associations.”
