SURREY — The Surrey woman accused of murdering her young daughter has been found fit to stand trial, following a psychiatric assessment.

Lisa Batstone, 41, is charged with second-degree murder in the death of her eight-year-old daughter, Teagan Batstone.

She appeared briefly in Surrey provincial court Monday and will next appear on Jan. 26.

She was arrested Dec. 10 after Teagan’s body was found inside a car that had rolled part way into a ditch in the 13900-block of 35A Avenue in South Surrey.
