UPDATE:
The names of the two people killed in Princeton in a shooting on the weekend have been released by RCMP.
Robert Keith Wharton, 44, and Rosemary (Rose) Fox, 32, were killed after a shooting on Saturday evening at a property on Old Hedley Road. RCMP have not released the name of a third person taken to hospital with life-threatening gun shot wounds. Cpl. Dan Moskaluk said that man is in stable condition and a suspect has been arrested.
“Two charges of second degree murder and a charge of attempted murder have been laid against a 49-year-old Princeton man in connection to the triple shooting that occurred Saturday night on March 30 in Princeton,” said Moskaluk.
The male suspect was arrested in Princeton around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday. Mounties are not releasing the name of the accused, who will make his first appearance at the Penticton courthouse on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. Moskaluk did not have the details of the apprehension but said the man was arrested at a location in Princeton and without incident.
“With respect to motives, the backgrounds of these individuals, these are the types of details that will come out in court through the court proceedings,” said Moskaluk.
It was confirmed that all the people involved in the incident were known to each other and were residents of Princeton.

A male is in custody in connection with a triple shooting that occurred Saturday evening in Princeton.
Cpl. Dan Moskaluk said a man and woman are dead and another man injured after a shooting on Saturday at approximately 9:45 p.m. at a property on Old Hedley Road in Princeton.
“The male victim was transported to Princeton hospital and then transferred to another hospital for more advanced care where he remains in serious condition. Two other individuals, a male and female, were found deceased inside one of the buildings on the property,” said Moskaluk.
RCMP said information gathered so far indicated all parties involved were from the Princeton area and were known to each other. Mounties arrested a suspect around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday without incident in Princeton and he remains in custody.
Residents in the Old Hedley Road area in Princeton told the Similkameen Spotlight that they were awakened on Sunday morning by the sounds of officers calling out on a megaphone in the areas of Tulameen Avenue, Angela Avenue and Pine Street. Numerous police vehicles and officers were seen in the area.
The Southeast District Major Crime Unit from Kelowna is leading the investigation with the appropriate resources remaining in Princeton. No further details are being released at this time including the identity of the deceased. The RCMP Southeast District Major Crimes Unit and RCMP Victim Assistance staff continue to provide support to the affected families.
