Suspect breaks into Nanaimo home, steals spa gift card

Break-and-enter reportedly happened Dec. 31 or Jan. 1 at Machleary Street residence

A suspect in a break-and-enter ransacked a home and made off with only a spa gift card.

Nanaimo RCMP received a report of a break-and-enter that occurred sometime between 9 p.m. on Dec. 31 and noon on Jan. 1 at a home in the 400 block of Machleary Street.

“Investigators noted that the interior of the home had been ransacked,” noted a Nanaimo RCMP press release.

The homeowner reported that the only item believed to have been taken was a $100 gift card to a spa at a local mall.
