RCMP report that in the early hours of Feb. 21 in the North Broadway Avenue area of Williams Lake, a male targeted approximately 60 parked vehicles, successfully entering many that were unlocked and stealing several small items.
He also appears to have tried to break into several residences, but as they were all locked, he was not successful. The male was quickly identified by police and arrested. Although he cannot be identified at this time he was released on conditions to appear in Williams Lake Court at a later date, police say.
The RCMP are reminding residents to remove valuable items from parked vehicles and to diligently lock them and their homes at all times. As well, the RCMP encourages residents to be vigilant to any suspicious behavior in their neighbourhoods, and to report such behaviour.
