According to Nanaimo RCMP, a chainsaw, weed trimmer and an outboard motor were stolen from a shed outside a home in the 2100 block of Robbie Place sometime overnight on Jan. 6.

“The suspect was motivated as the door was torn off to get to the loot,” noted an RCMP press release.

It was later discovered that a neighbour “heard some loud noises in the middle of the night” but hadn’t called police.

The motor was a 15-horsepower Evinrude and the chainsaw was a Husqvarna.
